The importance of Braille

Braille is much more than just a writing system – it is a tool that gives blind and visually impaired people worldwide access to information and independence. In this video, the European Blind Union (EBU) presents the versatility of Braille’s application: from everyday tasks like reading packaging or menus to its use in digital devices and creative hobbies like music. This video is also a great way to introduce people who know nothing about Braille to the topic, showing them how Braille breaks down barriers, enriches lives, and why it is so important to continue promoting and making this method accessible. The video has been released in eight languages to reach a wide audience.
