It’s time once again to look back on the past month.
What moved, inspired, and impressed us?
We saw a wealth of beautiful pictures of maps and site plans. In addition, there were some great initiatives that put Braille in the spotlight. We also remember the touching texts about learning Braille as an adult and, last but not least, the great contributions that dealt with the importance of Braille and critically examined its opportunities and challenges.
Much of it was truly worthy of an award, without a doubt!
But this month, the award went to a completely different, small, and very special project.
A personal experiment by two people who immersed themselves in the world of Braille and ultimately developed their idea of communication further and expanded it creatively in a small collage.
We congratulate and thank Lia Calvelo from the bottom of our hearts for her contribution, which we are delighted to honor.
And today, we are even giving the winner herself a chance to say a few words!
Straight from the winner
What a big surprise to be honored this Tuesday for my small contribution to the “Braille 200” anniversary campaign! I would like to express my sincere thanks and am delighted that “the beauty of communication” has resonated so strongly. And that in two ways, with a postcard full of letters on both sides. Simply beautiful!
Unser Gewinner für August
Es ist wieder einmal an der Zeit, auf den vergangenen Monat zurückzublicken.
Was hat uns bewegt, begeistert und beeindruckt?
Wir haben eine Fülle an schönen Bildern von Karten und Lageplänen gesehen. Dazu kamen großartige Initiativen, die Braille ins Zentrum gerückt haben. Besonders in Erinnerung bleiben auch die berührenden Texte über das Erlernen von Braille im Erwachsenenalter und nicht zuletzt die großartigen Beiträge, die sich mit der Bedeutung von Braille sowie einer kritischen Auseinandersetzung mit ihren Chancen und Herausforderungen beschäftigt haben.
Vieles davon war wahrlich preisverdächtig, ohne jeden Zweifel!
Doch in diesem Monat ging die Auszeichnung an ein ganz anderes, kleines und sehr besonderes Projekt.
Ein persönliches Experiment zweier Menschen, die gemeinsam in die Welt der Braille-Schrift eingetaucht sind und ihre Idee der Verständigung schließlich in einer kleinen Collage weitergedacht und kreativ ausgeweitet haben.
Wir gratulieren und danken Lia Calvelo von Herzen für ihren Beitrag, den wir mit großer Freude ehren.
Und heute lassen wir sogar die Gewinnerin selbst noch einmal kurz zu Wort kommen!

Welch eine große Überraschung, für meinen kleinen Beitrag zur Jubiläumskampagne “Braille 200” diesen Dienstag geehrt worden zu sein! Ich bedanke mich ganz herzlich und freue mich, dass “die Schönheit der Verständigung” so viel Resonanz gefunden hat. Und das in doppelter Hinsicht anhand einer Postkarte voller Buchstaben auf beiden Seiten. Einfach schön!
