A special international event is currently taking place in Paris from November 13 to 15 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Braille.
This Gathering is hosted by The Braille Revolution© Collective for the Visually Impaired 2025 and brings together experts, advocates, and members of the blind and partially sighted community from around the world to reflect on the past, present, and future of Braille.

2:30–3:30 p.m. (CET): International Alliance – Open Discussion
With Malak Aldajaan (Jordan), Sean O’Connor (Perkins School, United States), and Martine Abel-Williamson (New Zealand).
3:45–4:45 p.m. (CET): Access to Higher Education for Blind and Visually Impaired Students
With Wanda Diaz Merced (astronomy researcher, Puerto Rico) and Lisa Dondainas (author, Disability Handbook, Paris-Sorbonne).
