The Fakoo script is a writing system developed by Alexander Fakoó between 2006 and 2008. Its goal is to allow blind and sighted people to read the same text without the need for different writing systems. It is based on a 3×3 dot grid, which means that each character can consist of up to nine dots. This system enables a high degree of recognizability for Latin letters and is particularly intended for people who lost their sight later in life and are already familiar with the Latin alphabet. In total, the Fakoo character set includes over 150 symbols, including letters, numbers, punctuation marks, mathematical and Greek symbols, as well as arrows and currency signs. Fakoo characters can be arranged in such a way that they can be produced using standard Braille writing technology, such as Braille typewriters or Braille embossers, since each Fakoo symbol fits within two adjacent Braille cells.

Ziel dieser Schrift ist es, dass Blinde und Sehende denselben Text lesen können, ohne dass unterschiedliche Schriftsysteme verwendet werden müssen.
