Greetings from Amsterdam: Tom Babinszki

Our greeting today comes from Amsterdam and from Tom Babinszki. And what can we say? He truly hits the sweet spot for every book lover.
Because if someone mentions the scent of freshly opened pages, it’s no coincidence! It simply has to be pure passion!

Transscript

Hello, my name is Tom Babinszki. I’m from Cleveland, Ohio, United States. I use
Braille with everything. I learned Braille when I was six years old, and I
read at least five languages using Braille. And I use every application of
it. I often use Braille displays with speech, but I have to say that my
favorite activity is to just sit down quietly with a nice Braille book that
you can touch and feel and smell and just read for pleasure and not for speed.
Yeah, read some more. There is always more to read and keep it alive. You
know, it’s a good skill to have, but it gets rusty if you don’t use it. And I
think it’s very important that you use Braille and you ask for Braille. You
have the right…
to ask for the material in another format, let that be audio or Braille.
And I think it’s important to take advantage of it.
