Today, we would like to draw your attention to a very special event celebrating the writing system that connects us all.
On September 20, 2025, the Musée Louis Braille in the castle park of Coupvray is hosting an inclusive day of activities dedicated to commemorating and celebrating 200 years of Braille.
Experience lectures, panel discussions, readings in the dark, inclusive sports such as Cécifoot or Showdown, a “village of associations” with many organizations related to visual impairment, and plenty of space for exchange and encounters. The program covers a wide range of aspects of Braille, inclusion, and social participation.
One of the special guest speakers will be Haben Girma, an activist for the rights of people with disabilities and the first deafblind graduate of Harvard Law School.
In addition, we would like to present two statements by Haben Girma that shed light on the topics from her personal perspective.
