Just this much: Today, Braille will be danced!
A big thank you from Braille 200 to Judith for this great performance!

Video description
Braille dance at the Berufsförderungswerk Würzburg’s (vocational training centre) New Year’s reception. The video starts showing the empty stage of the BFW dining hall with a transparent labeled with “200 years braille” in the background. 18 men and women dressed in black with black masks walk onto the stage in three groups of 6 people each. Each person holds a white Frisbee disk in their hand representing a Braille dot. They start performing a synchronized dance performance and use their braille dots to clap. In the middle of their performance, they stand in three rows holding their braille dots at different heights to form the letters “BTG”. They then rotate positions to first form “KBM” and then “VFA”. Afterwards they pick up their dance performance again and end with holding up two signs with “We love” and the letters “BFW” formed out of their braille dots.
200 Years of Braille – A Reason to Celebrate: Our Braille Dance for Inclusion and Education
This year, we are celebrating a very special anniversary: 200 years of Braille – a milestone that has opened up access to education, culture, and social participation for millions of blind and visually impaired people around the world. Braille is much more than just a writing system: it is the key to self-determination, equal opportunities, and inclusion.
To honor this special anniversary, employees of the BFW Würzburg rehearsed a Braille dance and performed it for the first time at this year’s New Year’s reception of BFW Würzburg.
With creativity, team spirit, and an extra dose of enthusiasm, they brought the six dots of the Braille script to life through dance.

200 Jahre Brailleschrift – ein Grund zu feiern: Unser Brailletanz für Inklusion und Bildung
In diesem Jahr feiern wir ein ganz besonderes Jubiläum: 200 Jahre Brailleschrift – ein Meilenstein, der Millionen blinden und sehbehinderten Menschen weltweit den Zugang zu Bildung, Kultur und gesellschaftlicher Teilhabe eröffnet hat. Die Brailleschrift ist weit mehr als nur ein Schriftsystem: Sie ist der Schlüssel zu Selbstbestimmung, Chancengleichheit und Inklusion.
Um dieses besondere Jubiläum zu würdigen, haben Mitarbeitende des BFW Würzburg einen Braille-Tanz einstudiert und beim diesjährigen Neujahrsempfang des BFW Würzburg erstmalig aufgeführt.
Mit Kreativität, Teamgeist und einer Extraportion Begeisterung setzten sie die sechs Punkte der Brailleschrift tänzerisch in Szene.
