Louis Braille originally introduced his system of tactile writing in French. Over time, materials about Braille became available in German, English, and other languages as well. Today, Braille is shared and promoted worldwide through books, magazines, podcasts, videos, live shows, and more.
Do you know of helpful resources on Braille in your language? Why not share them with our readers? Someone somewhere in the world might be looking for exactly that.
We were very happy to receive the submissions that have reached us over the past few months in various languages. Many of them focus on local sources of information about Braille. We would love to give more of these contributions the attention they deserve.
To get started, Oleg Shevcun would like to introduce a monthly Russian-language talk show focused on Braille. It is created and hosted by an international team and features stories, current discussions, interviews, and much more. The show is called “Pro Braille,” which roughly translates to “About Braille.” Episodes are available both as livestreams and as recordings on YouTube and on popular podcast platforms. If you speak Russian, this is an excellent and up-to-date source of information about Braille.
